Scoring a Shot
1) Tap the court at the location where the shot was taken
2) Credit the shot to a player by clicking the box with the player’s number
3) If the shot goes in, click the box with the green check mark
Default Miss
When you tap the court, the app will assume a missed shot. This allows you to keep up with the play if there have been multiple shots taken in a short period of time, rather than taking the time to click the red “X”. If the shot was made, simply tap the “Made” button, designated by a green check mark. On a miss, you may still opt to click the red “X” if you prefer, but it is not necessary.
Did You Know?
-
You can also edit whether a shot was a 2 or 3-pointer by tapping on the shot value at the top of the play's column within the play log.
-
When you first tap the court to record the shot, hold your finger on the screen to move the shot locator. As you move from the lane, to the perimeter, and out to the 3-point range, each section of the court will highlight to inform you where exactly you are about to record the shot from.
Recording Rebounds
Any time that a missed shot is scored in the GameChanger Scorekeeping app, a rebound may also be recorded.
How to Score a Rebound
1) Tap the area on the court where the shot was taken. (The play selector will assume a missed shot, so you do not need to tap the red “X”)
2) Assign the missed shot to a player. The player selector will then collapse and reveal the team selector for a rebound.
3) Select the team that grabbed the rebound.
4) Choose the player who rebounded the ball
Note: You may skip the shot assignment step and score the rebound first. You can then assign the shot at any point from the play history.
Auto-Assignment
If a rebound is not recorded by the scorekeeper, the app will assign the rebound on a team level based on the result of the following play.
For example, if you score a missed shot for Team A, then score a made shot for Team B immediately after, the app will assume that Team B recorded a defensive rebound on the missed shot by Team A.
